The Registered Nurse (RN) reports to the Ohana Clinical Director and the Medical Director- IOP/PHP and is responsible and accountable for providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of Ohana which includes clinical areas of practice involving individual nursing assessments of youth and co-facilitating groups (youth and family). Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge. The registered nurse shall assist with new staff orientation, and provide clinical and medical guidance to staff of the IOP/PHP. The registered nurse will also be a part of a multidisciplinary team that is committed to providing evidence-based therapies, which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and therefore, is expected to work within those therapeutic models. Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills, curiosity, cultural humility, creativity and adaptability.
Minimum of three years experience working with children, adolescences and families. Experience in a Partial Hospital or Intensive Outpatient setting preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS (required).
CHOMP provided de-escalation training must be obtained within first 6 months of hire.
Will complete mandatory 5150 training by Monterey County to obtain 5150 certification and obtain 5150 professional staff authorization yearly.
