What is Recruitment fraud?
Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated scam where criminals may offer fictitious job opportunities. This type of fraud is normally perpetrated through online services, such as bogus websites, or through unsolicited emails claiming to be from the company. These emails request that recipients provide personal information, and ultimately payments, to process applications for jobs that do not exist.
Montage Health will never ask for payment to process documents, to refer you to a third party, to process applications or visas, or ask you to pay other costs as part of the recruitment process. You should never send money to anyone suggesting they can secure employment with Montage Health
If you suspect you have received a fraudulent offer, please contact local authorities.
How can you identify Recruitment fraud?
- Any communication purporting to be related to recruitment for a position at Montage Health from non-Montage Health sources should be considered suspicious and handled with extreme caution.
- Authentic communications with Montage Health Human Resource professionals and recruiters will always come from '@Montagehealth.org' email address.
- Fraud perpetrators may often use mobile or platform telephone numbers beginning with +44(0)70 instead of official company numbers.
- Fraud perpetrators may even offer to pay a large percentage of the fees requested and ask the candidate to pay the remaining amount.
- Most fraud attempts also reflect a huge sense of urgency – i.e., a do-it-now mentality. What should YOU do if you receive such an email or if an acquaintance forwards such an email to you?
