RN Educator - Telemetry/Cardiac
Work Hours: varied day shift hours
Under the leadership of the Education Department director, the Telemetry/Cardiac Zone Educator is responsible for formal and informal education activities for the staff of Main Pavilion, including education facilitation support to the Tyler Heart Institute. Planning assistance from the Management Team of the respective departments will be provided. The Telemetry/Cardiac Zone Educator possesses a broad scope of knowledge and skills to facilitate improved patient outcomes and improved staff performance in the clinical setting. The Telemetry/Cardiac Zone Educator possesses the skills and knowledge to competently provide the appropriate services to patients and staff.

Must have no less than 3 years in the last 5 years of Telemetry/Cardiac nursing experience, and experienced in formal and informal teaching of adult learners.
Minimum of BSN or currently enrolled in formal BSN program or enrolled in courses that can be applied to completion of formal BSN program. MSN preferred.
State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS (required). ACLS and PALS certification must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment. Must pass the CHOMP Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation and Treatment test at 85% prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment, then annually. CSC certification preferred. Current membership in nursing professional organization preferred. CCRN, PCCN, or other Telemetry/Cardiac nursing specialty certification completed within 18 months of hire.
