Registered Nurse - OR Circulating/Scrub - Outpatient Surgery
Work Hours: 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Mon-Thurs
Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, nursing supervisor, and/or charge nurse, the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for planning directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge. The registered nurse is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned.
The perioperative registered nurse possesses skills, knowledge, and experience to competently provide perioperative nursing care within the OPSC care areas of admitting, PACU, operating rooms, and/or GI endoscopy. Performs circulating nurse tasks in the operating room and provides moderate sedation for procedures throughout the department.
Must be able to take call and be available to respond to the hospital within forty-five minutes.
A minimum of one year operating room circulating nurse experience in an acute care hospital or multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center. Acute care hospital operating room experience within the last five years preferred. Computer documentation skills preferred.
Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS is required. ACLS must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment.
