Position Summary:
The Philanthropy Officer (PO) is responsible for the solicitation of five and six-figure gifts from individuals who are passionate about improving healthcare in our community.
The PO manages a portfolio of donors supporting the mission of Montage Health through financial and other resource commitments. S/he creates tailored strategies with a focus on the philanthropic priorities of Montage Health, including community health programs, clinical excellence, clinical innovation, and Ohana.
Self-motivated and creative professional with excellent skills in relationship building, strategic thinking, gift opportunity identification, development and execution. Writing and presentation skills are equally important skills. Perhaps most importantly, we are looking for a true team player, one who (especially in an ongoing COVID environment) will work in a flexible collaborative, compassionate and ‘we are all in this together’ manner.
This position will work with the Foundation leadership team to establish goals and a robust engagement plan for each potential donor, including identifying key performance indicators, on-going planning and reporting procedures in order to optimize donor satisfaction.
Experience:
Four to six years of front-line foundation and/or fundraising experience in a dynamic environment is required. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, including speaking to and writing for donors, creating compelling partnership proposals and pitch materials.
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive, collaborative, productive relationships with members of the Board and staff at all levels. Sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality of donor information.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to devise creative solutions to complex problems and issues and interpret financial data to understand budget models.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in communication, related field or equivalent experience preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
Other:
This position requires driving, ability, and willingness to travel.
In addition to a valid CA driver’s license, the following are required: Automobile insurance as required by the State of California with an acceptable driving record of three points or less, participation in the DMV pull-notice program, and an automobile available for daily work.
