Job Description:

Under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer, the Lead Applications Analyst for Business Applications reports to the Business Applications Manager and/or Director of Business Applications and is responsible for leading the team in systems analysis, process/workflow optimization, software implementation, and support for applications maintained by the Health Information Technology department.

The Lead Application Analyst provides depth of expertise and leadership in content to help guide teammates on projects while also making diverse and complex individual contributions. They must be knowledgeable regarding business processing needs involved in hospital and/or clinic operations.

The Lead Application Analyst is responsible for design, build, testing, validation, and ongoing support of one or more business applications. This individual must also be able to work to:

  • Identify and resolve systems issues in coordination with other team members across all applications.
  • Work closely with operational counterparts to ensure consistent business processing methods.
  • Provide expert and creative solutions to end-user requirements and problems.
  • Take the initiative to respond, research, and resolve operational inquiries pertaining to business systems and Epic-integrated applications.
  • Participate in and drive positive and/or innovative changes across the organization.

The Lead Application Analyst is responsible for obtaining the appropriate certification(s) and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the software functionality. They are expected to possess or acquire knowledge of the operational workflows to be implemented and supported within the system. This role interfaces closely with operational and/or technical staff during all project phases, including: planning, design, build, testing, validation, and post implementation support.

Workday experience is a requirement for this role and includes:

  • Required: System Administrator experience in addition to building/maintaining reporting, integrations, and security.  
  • Preferred: Workday Studio experience, Business Process experience or familiarity

Experience

  • Workday System Administrator experience with a strong understanding of Workday’s system architecture is required for this role.  
  • Seven or more years’ experience supporting technology systems preferred.
  • Four or more years’ experience supporting ERP systems.
    • Workday Financial and Supply Chain experience preferred.
    • Infor Lawson S3 Financial and Procurement experience desired

  • Workday PRO certification(s) preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical and/or business workflows.
  • Experience with application configuration tools to support clinical or business systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting software.
  • Experience with project implementations and project management experience preferred.
  • Understanding of industry standard message formats (e.g. HL7, X12, and XML).
  • Strong SQL querying knowledge and experience with report writing tools (e.g. Crystal Reports, SSRS, Tableau) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of networks and PC operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Viso).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in clinical and business strategies.
  • Detail oriented with a desire and ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work productively in teams and independently.
  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret clinical and business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, informatics, education, business, or information systems required. Equivalent experience may be substituted.

Licensure/Certifications

Workday PRO certification(s) desired.
