Job Description:
The Behavior Specialist reports to the IOP/PHP Program Manager while part of a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for ensuring a safe and therapeutic milieu, providing psychoeducation in individual and group settings, and supporting treatment plan implementation. In addition to direct patient care, behavior specialists will acquire skills in screening, data entry, and documentation, principles of behaviorism, de-escalation techniques and collaborative problem solving. Other important dimensions of this position include commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and quality of care and outcomes measurements, professionalism, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Must have strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and curiosity as well as comfort prioritizing safety and quality of care.
Experience
Must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working with children, adolescents and families. Previous experience in a setting with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is preferred, but not required.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology or related field.
Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment as well as ongoing required training.
Licensure/Certifications
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
