Position Summary
Under the leadership of the department director and/or the assistant director of pharmacy, the Admission List Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting in pharmacy activities not requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgment. Duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to, compiling and/or maintaining patient medication profiles, calling prescriber’s offices or pharmacies for verification of medication records, communicating directly to hospital patients and/or their families or representatives and data entry into pharmacy computer systems. Important dimensions of this position consist of professional commitment, excellent communication skills, team work, interpersonal skills, safety, good customer relations, fiscal responsibility and broad pharmacy knowledge including current medication products found in the community setting.


Experience
At least three years pharmacy technician experience preferred.


Education
Education as required for State of California Pharmacy Technician licensure.
Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment and must complete and pass all annual competencies.


Licensure/Certifications
State of California Pharmacy Technician license or undergraduate California Pharmacist Intern license is required. The National Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred and required in the first year of employment. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is preferred and required within the first six months.

The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.

Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $2.03
