Job Description:

Under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer, the Pharmacy Analyst reports to the Applications Supervisor and  is responsible for analyzing, designing, encoding, implementing, testing, debugging and modifying application input screens, data output and interfaces for a variety of clinical applications. Works with clinical users and vendors to define and build application requirements and to resolve application problems. Utilizes application expert knowledge and tools to optimize application functionality. Manages subcommittee activities, functions as a project manager and assists in the preparation of system needs assessments. Serves as the primary liaison between pharmacy, clinical users, physicians, information technology and vendors. Serves as a resource to frontline caregivers and Pharmacy staff. Develops strategies for change management, performance improvement and application optimization.

Experience:

Has successfully completed CIS training and is a proficient user of the system. Experience with the pharmacy information systems. Possesses strong analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and physicians. Ability to multi-task working on a variety of projects at one time; each project interrupted by another or some other project of higher priority, as well as interruptions resulting from close working proximity to co-workers. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook required. Demonstrates interest and skill in the use of computers. Experience in formal and informal teaching of adult learners. Demonstrates knowledge of hospital policies and procedures .Experience in project management. Prior experience with system analysis and system administration. Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies. Significant experience troubleshooting proprietary software. Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems. Two or more years of clinical practice as a Pharmacist at CHOMP preferred. Experience with application implementations desirable. Experience with other Microsoft Office products. Experience in leading and facilitating group/team process desired.

Education:

As required for pharmacist licensure.

Licensure/Certification:

Registered Pharmacist licensed from within United States, preferred license in California.  Based on the assigned application, Epic certification is required within 90 days of the training completion date and as required to support new version releases.
