Job Description:

Deploy the release of new technologies as well as the architecture, design, configuration, installation, support, and management of virtualization and cloud services. Lead problem-solving efforts as the highest level support often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations. Ensure high availability, cloud connectivity and acceptable levels of performance and security in the virtual environment across the Enterprise. Maintain a strong understanding of emerging technologies practices in cloud computing; including storage, networking, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Develop and maintain procedures and documentation for operation and restoration of systems and applications. Provide leadership in planning and implementation of projects for virtualization across the enterprise.

Experience

Requirements:

Experience with cloud management and orchestration frameworks (vRealize Operations and vRealize Automation). 7-10 years of recent full-time experience managing enterprise-class virtualization environments with cloud migration/connect or equivalent experience. Experience with VSphere PowerCLI to automate and manage configuration of VMware vSphere. Experience with data center virtualization (VMware vCloud Suite, etc.). Familiarity with the principles of data center virtualization (VMware vCloud Suite, etc.). Experience managing a VMware VSphere environment. Strong experience with cloud connectivity and migrating workload across data center and the cloud. Strong experience and understanding of networking in order to understand the full solution. Experience with securing and designing a virtual desktop environment in a multi-domain, multi-site Windows Active Directory environment that consists of Cisco UCS-X, Pure Storage, NetApp Storage, VMware vSphere X.0, Windows servers. Strong knowledge of VMware management tools and VDS (Virtual Distributed Switch). Patch management, end point protection management, and Antivirus Management experience.

Preferences: Scripting experience, preferably with PowerShell. Experience managing private, public, and hybrid-cloud topologies including storage, network, and compute resource interactions. Experience managing software-defined networks (VMware NSX). Experience with disaster-recovery and business continuity solutions in a virtualized infrastructure. Understanding of other virtualization products (Microsoft Hyper-V, Docker, etc)

Education

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, or Information Systems - Required

Enterprise Architecture Framework -- Preferred

Licensure/Certifications

VMware VCP Certification (VCP6-DTM / VCP6-DCV
