Job Description:

Position Summary:   

 The Ohana Therapist - Unlicensed reports to a Program Manager in the outpatient clinic. The Therapist may provide evaluations and will provide individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents and their families. Finally, the Therapist provides mental health education to patients and, as appropriate, to the community and other professionals. Other important dimensions of this position include commitment to continuous learning, innovation, quality of care and outcomes measurement, professionalism, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Must have strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and curiosity and comfort prioritizing safety and quality of care.

Experience and Skills:

Must have a minimum of one-year experience working with children, adolescents and families in a mental health setting. Training in either Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is preferred. Additionally, the therapist will be expected to participate in education and training activities in diagnostic evaluation and evidence-based psychotherapy for children, adolescents, parents and families.

Education:

Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is required.

Licensure/Certifications:

ASW’s, AMFT, APCC, status with BBS is required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. MOAB certification must be obtained within the first 6 months of hire. Certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or other evidence-based therapy for children or adolescents preferred. Will complete mandatory 5150 training by Monterey County to obtain 5150 certification and obtain 5150 Professional staff authorization yearly.
