Position Summary:   

The Ohana Therapist unlicensed - IOP/PHP reports to the Ohana IOP/PHP Supervisor and is responsible for providing structured, evidence-based therapies including CBT and DBT in the group and multi-family format with adolescents and their families in the Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization setting. The Therapist unlicensed - IOP/PHP may collaborate and/or conduct intake assessments, and will be co-facilitating groups, and providing individual and family therapy. In addition, the Ohana Therapist unlicensed - IOP/PHP provides mental health education to patients and, as appropriate, to the community and other professionals. Other important dimensions of this position include commitment to continuous learning, innovation, quality of care and outcomes measurement, professionalism, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Training in evidence-based treatments for youth, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy or Motivational Enhancement Therapy is preferred. Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills, curiosity, cultural humility, creativity and adaptability.

Experience and Skills:

Must have a minimum of 1year of experience in therapy with children, adolescents and families. Experience in a Partial Hospital or Intensive Outpatient setting is preferred..

Training in either Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is preferred. Training in evidence based treatments for Substance Use Disorders (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy or Contingency Management) and certification in said therapy is preferred.

Education:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Human services required.

Licensure/Certifications:

ASW, AMFT, APCC is required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. MOAB certification must be obtained within the first 6 months of hire. Certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or other evidence-based therapy for children or adolescents preferred. Will complete mandatory 5150 training by Monterey County to obtain 5150 certification and obtain 5150 Professional staff authorization yearly.
