Job Description:
Position Summary
Under the leadership of the department director and the supervision of an RN, the Surgical Technologist is responsible and accountable for working intra-operatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgical environment for the patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing and sterilizing equipment and instruments prior to surgical procedures, proving support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies, and stocking adequate supplies for surgery. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad professional knowledge.
Experience
A minimum of one year scrub experience as a Surgical Technologist in the last 3 years in an acute care hospital operating room preferred.
Education
Graduate of a surgical technologist training program strongly preferred. Will consider extensive hospital surgical technologist experience in lieu of graduate of training program.
Licensure/Certifications
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS is required. Surgical Technologist certification is strongly preferred.

Assigned Work Hours:
Full Time
10-hr shift
11:00 AM-9:30 PM
variable days off Monday-Friday.
Rotate weekend call and night call.
