Job Description:

Under the leadership of the Population Health Systems Manager, the Solutions Architect is responsible for evaluating the organizations business needs and determining how HIT can support those needs leveraging software, hardware, or infrastructure.  Aligning HIT strategy with business goals to help determine, develop, and improve technical solutions for operational requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1.     Mastering of assigned application(s) and applied workflows including clinical, technical and operational

2.     Serve as a leader and resource in promoting the understanding, integration and application of information technology in healthcare settings

3.     Developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of complex clinical, technical and operational workflows to properly optimize the assigned application areas

4.     Analyze current technologies used within the company and determine ways to maximize value

5.     Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates

6.     Propose and establish framework for necessary contributions from various departments

7.     Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources and scope

8.     Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives

9.     Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions

10.  Assist in defining clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution

11.  Follow team standard operating procedures, polices, and use organization standard templates

12.  Mentor team members in evaluating and converting ideas and concepts into working solutions, with real and measureable improvements for the customer

13.  Provide feedback and overview of prospective solutions to manager for review and discussion

14.  Embedded in operational meetings and discussions to help scope technology solutions

15.  Other duties as assigned

HIT departmental responsibilities 
16.    Maintaining focus on customer service and responsiveness

18.    Troubleshoot technical problems 
19.    Master HIT tools, applications, and processes
20.    Maintain fluency in HIT and industry best practices, tools, applications, certifications and processes
21.    Follow departmental and organizational policies and procedures
 

Experience:

Required Experience:
*     At least 3 years of working experience in one or multiple HIT areas
*     Expertise in business subject area
*     Excellent written and oral communication skills
*     Deep analytical skills - internal and external to HIT
*     Business analysis techniques and processes
*     Project and resource management skills
*     Customer service 
*     Microsoft Office products
*     Previous work as a System’s Analyst
 

Preferred Experience:

*     IT issue tracking software or "ticketing" systems (e.g. ServiceNow)

Education:

*     Bachelor’s degree or higher. Equivalent experience may be substituted.

Licensure/Certification:

Required certifications
*     Epic application certification in corresponding application areas for job role as available (i.e. Healthy Planet, EpicCare Ambulatory, etc.)
 

Preferred certifications
*     PMP - Project Management Professional Certification
*     ITIL 4 Foundation - Information Technology Infrastructure Library
*     CPHIMS - Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems

Additional Epic certification is required within 90 days of completion date of course and as required to support new versions.

Salary Range (based on years of applicable experience)

$120,744 to $161,366
