Job Description:

Position Summary:   

 The Senior Therapist reports to a Program Manager in the outpatient clinic and is responsible for providing evaluations and individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents and their families. In addition, the Ohana therapist provides mental health education to patients and, as appropriate, to the community and other professionals. Other important dimensions of this position include commitment to continuous learning, innovation, quality of care and outcomes measurement, professionalism, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Must have strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and curiosity and comfort prioritizing safety and quality of care.

Experience and Skills:

Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience practicing therapy with children, adolescents and families.

Training certification in either Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is required and/or Parent Management Training and Family Psychotherapy.  Alternate evidence-based therapies will be considered, including Family-Based Therapy for eating disorders or substance use disorders, Parent Management Training and Exposure and Response Prevention.

Education:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Human services required.

Licensure/Certifications:

LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, LEP, PsyD, or Ph.D. is required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. MOAB certification must be obtained within the first 6 months of hire. Certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or other evidence-based therapy for children or adolescents preferred. Will complete mandatory 5150 training by Monterey County to obtain 5150 certification and obtain 5150 Professional staff authorization yearly.
