Job Description:
The Senior Therapist in the Ohana Applied Therapy Program will deliver music therapy within Ohana’s Outpatient, Partial Hospital Programs and Residential Treatment Center. They will report to the Program Manager for the Applied Therapies Program, of which, Music Therapy is one component alongside art and movement. The Senior Therapist, in addition to their primary clinical duties, will be responsible for designing the structure and content of Ohana’s music therapy interventions across levels of care. The Senior Therapist will also participate in recruitment of and collaboration with volunteers and contracted professionals or organizations. The Senior Therapist will also have the opportunity to collaborate with Ohana’s Prevention Program around the integration of music into Ohana’s prevention and education efforts in the community. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and broad behavioral health knowledge.

Experience and Skills:
Five years minimum prior experience in mental health inpatient and outpatient treatment settings with children and adolescents is required. Experience in clinical supervision and program development strongly preferred.
Education:
Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology required up through Doctorate degree combined with training in professional Music Therapy.
Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment as well as ongoing required training.
Licensure/Certifications:
LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, LEP, PsyD, or Ph.D. is required along with active, good standing Board Certification (Registered Arts Therapist or Expressive Art Therapist).American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. MOAB certification must be obtained within the first 6 months of hire. Will complete mandatory 5150/5585 training by Monterey County to obtain 5150/5585 certification and obtain 5150/5585 Professional staff authorization yearly.

Primarily 8 hour shifts; 40 hours per week
Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
