Job Description:

This position reports to the Director/Assistant Director of Patient Business Services. They perform support functions for the Director/Assistant Director and assist the Supervisors as needed. Activities include, but are not limited to credentialing, ordering, meeting minutes, correspondence and communication with vendors and service providers as well as with other department managers and staff, administration and physicians. They are responsible for office ordering, patient assistance, Medicare Certification for hospital-based physicians, Physician meal charges, travel itineraries, schedules and calendars for the Director and Assistant Director. They maintain sensitive and confidential information.


Two to three years of secretarial or administrative assistant experience required. Demonstrated ability to utilize intermediate office software programs such as the Microsoft Suite is required. A professional appearance, a positive demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information and concentration in a demanding environment are essential to the success of this position.  


Experience with computer systems, especially with hospital accounts receivable systems, is preferred. Some knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.


High school diploma or G.E.D. required; relevant course work above and beyond high school is preferred.
