Job Description:

The Clinical Program Therapist/Social Worker for the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) reports to the Assistant Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services (OBHS.) The Program Clinical Therapist/Social Worker is responsible for planning, implementing and providing group therapy, aftercare support group therapy and occasionally individual therapy to patients with a mental health diagnosis. The Clinical Program Therapist/Social Worker is also responsible for completing clinical assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning and case management. The Clinical Program Therapist/Social Worker is a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team which is responsible for planning and implementing an individualized patient focused treatment plan.  May float between programs as needed. Per Diem positions cover for various areas within Behavioral Health Services.

Experience 

Advanced knowledge and experience in mental health assessments, treatment modalities, and interventions for individual and group therapy for patients with a variety of acute and chronic mental health diagnoses. Demonstrated abilities in group dynamics, milieu management, and therapeutic relationships. Experience with leading groups, dual diagnosis, and mental health patients preferred. Prior experience in a mental health setting preferred. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy training/experience preferred. Knowledge of local community resources preferred.

Education

Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or Clinical Counseling required.

Licensure/Certifications

Licensure or pre-licensure (supervision eligible) in the State of California as Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment. De-escalation certification must be obtained within 9 months of hire.
