Job Description:
Monitor Control reports to the Security Supervisor. They are expected to be observant and detail oriented, reporting any unusual occurrences to the appropriate individuals. Monitor Control are expected to be self-starters, able to follow directions, and to follow through on tasks to completion. They are expected to be able to problem solve. They are expected to be able to perform the duties associated with the job, including, but not limited to: the consistent monitoring of the CCTV systems, the consistent management of the access control and badging systems, maintaining accurate, complete and consistent log entries, dispatching Security Officers appropriately, and all PBX functions. Monitor Control are expected to have functional key boarding and word processing skills, and will be expected to initiate and complete thorough, clear and concise computer generated reports as needed. They must have superior written, verbal and computer communication skills; as well as having excellent customer service phone skills. Monitor Control are expected to be able to work in conjunction with the Security Systems Technician in analyzing and problem solving any systems issues or errors at Monitor Control in order to resolve problems should they arise. Monitor Control must be able to exhibit a calm and thoughtful demeanor in a potentially difficult multitasking environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks appropriately. Monitor Control must satisfy all training requirements within the allotted timeframes. Monitor Control must have knowledge of, and be able to, comply with hospital and departmental policies. They must be able to perform the specific skills required for the position, as outlined in the Competency and Skills Check List.
Experience:
Healthcare environment security experience is preferred. Functional key boarding and word processing skills are required. They must demonstrate superior written, verbal and computer communication skills to be able to initiate and complete thorough, clear and concise computer generated reports as needed. Must have excellent customer service phone skills.
Education:
High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent or combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.

Assigned Work Hours:
Per diem, varied day and shift as needed. No set guaranteed hours in a two-week pay period. This is not a full or part time position.
