Medical Assistant-Outpatient Behavioral Health
Work Hours: Varied day and shifts as needed
Under the leadership of the assistant director and under the direction and clinical supervision of the Physician and/ or Nurse Practitioner, the medical assistant is responsible for assisting in the treatment of patients by performing the following duties: performs basic administrative, clerical, and technical supportive services for a licensed physician and or Nurse Practitioner.
Previous experience with mental health/substance abuse patients is preferred. Demonstrated ability to write routine reports and correspondence using proper grammar and spelling. Ability to speak effectively with patients, customers or employees of organization. Must maintain strict patient confidentiality, adhering to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations. Familiar with a PC and basic software, such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, etc.
Must have completed a Medical Assistant certification program.
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
