Lead Charge RN - Main Operating Room

Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, the lead charge nurse, the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for planning directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department during all assigned shifts. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad perioperative nursing knowledge.
The Lead Charge Nurse coordinates the unit’s activities, delegates assignments appropriately, collaborates with all services of the hospital, assesses the unit’s staffing, serves as a resource and role model and helps resolve interpersonal conflicts. The Lead Charge Nurse’s goal for effective management and coordination of the department’s activities is to obtain both the respect and cooperation of the staff.
The Lead Charge role requires the ability to fulfill a leadership role, demonstrating leadership behaviors at all times.
Minimum two years experience working in a multidisciplinary perioperative setting as a circulating and/or scrub nurse required.
One year of charge nurse experience in an acute care hospital operating room or comparable health care setting preferred.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required.
Education Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment of patients requiring the applicable skill, and must complete and pass all annual competencies.
State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required. Certification in Perioperative Nursing Preferred (CNOR).

Monday-Friday 6:00-16:30; Occasional weekend shifts.
Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience):$69.65
