Position Summary
Under the leadership of the department director and assistant director the Home Health Aide is responsible for providing nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Home Health Aide will be assigned patients homes or facilities providing personal care such as bathing, showering, oral care, pericare, taking vital signs, and some light housekeeping.
Experience
One year experience in the last five years in a skilled nursing facility, acute care setting, or home health agency preferred. Spanish speaking preferred.
Education
Level of education sufficient to obtain CA HHA certification.
Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment of patients requiring the applicable skill, and must complete and pass all annual competencies.
Licensure/Certifications
State of California HHA certificate required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required. Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
This position requires driving. In addition to a valid CA driver’s license, the following are required: Automobile insurance as required by the State of California with an acceptable driving record of three points or less, participation in the DMV pull-notice program, and an automobile available for daily work.
