Work Hours: Varied shift hours / Monday -Friday
The Courier/Client Services Representative reports to the Security Supervisor and sorts mailroom correspondence for delivery to the post office, off-site facilities, and service clients. In addition to transporting mail and other forms of correspondence, the Courier transports reports, x-rays, lab specimens, and small items to and from departments within the hospital, off-site facilities, service clients, and the post office. The Courier post marks mail per mailing rates as required by the U.S. Postal Service, fills supply orders, performs tele-printer duties, problem solves, and runs errands as assigned. The Courier also maintains an established schedule for pick-ups/deliveries, makes daily bank run from Accounting Department to the Wells Fargo Bank in Carmel, handles court documents for Garden Pavilion, and performs other duties as needed.
This position interacts with a wide variety of medical, technical, and administrative staff, as well as patients and general public. Must be able to tolerate hospital environment working conditions such as working around infectious waste, diseases, odors, soiled linen, and take appropriate precautions. Must drive in traffic and organize/prioritize work and meet timeline requirements.
Prior courier experience helpful.
High school diploma, G.E.D. or combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
Must possess a valid California driver's license.
In addition to the above CA driver's license, the following are required: An acceptable driving record of three points or less and participation in the DMV pull-notice program.
