Under the leadership of the Chief Communication and Marketing Officer and department leadership, the Copywriter/Copy Editor is responsible for the creation, management, and coordination of all content projects. Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to determine needs and then oversee the process for all written content projects. When required, project manage freelance writers and vendors and organize all writer workloads.

The Copywriter/Copy Editor must be flexible, positive, detail-oriented, a good communicator, work well on a team, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and can juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

Core responsibilities

  • Oversee the process for all written content projects, such as ads, press releases, intranet, website, stories, marketing material, presentations/speeches, scripts for videos, fliers, brochures, emergency response, and media-related projects.
  • Ability to write and copyedit for projects, as well as project manage the content process and workload for freelance writers and vendors
  • Lead a weekly content meeting with the content team
  • Oversee all feedback and approvals for written content
  • Collaborate with project teams, team leads, and/or management team members on all projects
  • Proactively collaborate to cross promote content on various channels
  • Organize and oversee the content calendar
  • Ability to pivot and be flexible when project requirements change

Experience:

Five or more years of experience writing and managing content projects (bonus for healthcare entities). Must demonstrate excellent writing/editing, project management, storytelling, and organizational skills. Must have experience managing contractors, vendors, and budgets. Must be able to manage and prioritize large workload, be willing to use project management software (Asana), and have excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
