Job Description:

The Controller reports to the Director of Financial Services . The individual has oversight responsibility for accounting, reimbursement and accounts payable functions and is able to fill in for the Director  when needed. The individual is responsible for maintaining, via oversight and preparation, a complete set of accounting records for all companies.  This includes preparing financial statements and disclosure reports within the framework of generally accepted accounting principles and practices prescribed by state and federal agencies, and by management. The qualified individual is in charge of proper recording of investment transactions, donations and fund uses. Responsible, via oversight, coordination and preparation, for completing numerous surveys and other external reporting requirements such as OSHPD disclosures. Takes the lead role in the annual financial and retirement plan audits as well as tax preparation. Analyzes Federal and State reimbursement detail for accuracy and trends.  Works with various resources in the preparation and review of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. The position has ultimate oversight of the Accounting and Accounts Payable functions. 


Experience at reading, interpreting and implementing accounting guidance and strong computer skills and system management experience required. Strong communication skills and experience working with management decision makers required. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, show an attention to detail and meet stringent deadlines. Skilled at presenting complex information in an understandable fashion.

A minimum of five (5) years of management experience and relevant healthcare senior accounting experience (in terms of size & scope) preferred.


Experience in recording investment transactions and the proper accounting for donated funds is preferred.

Experience with Lawson preferred.  Decision support, non-profit and fund accounting experience preferred.


This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent; MBA preferred.


CPA or CMA is required if no MBA. CPA or CMA strongly preferred if individual has MBA.
