Job Description:

Position Summary:   

The Assistant Safety Coordinator, under direction of the Safety Coordinator, is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Safety department which includes, but is not limited to, the organization and documentation of emergency management drills, scheduling and collecting data from safety tours, collecting meeting minutes from several Safety-run committees and work groups, assisting with fire drills, and monitoring corrective actions for completion. The Assistant Safety Coordinator will assist with required documentation for regulatory and accrediting agencies. Additionally, the Assistant Safety Coordinator may be called upon to assist with the coordination of training, emergency drills, and community preparedness events. Last, the Assistant Safety Coordinator will assist with data collection and entry into Safety-run software programs, and perform other duties as designated by the Safety Coordinator.


A minimum of one year of experience with organizing Safety or Emergency Management activities and documentation is preferred. This position requires skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and experience in organizing and documenting is a must. The candidate must have strong people skills and the ability to work well with teams across a variety of disciplines in a healthcare setting. Additionally, this individual must have demonstrated leadership qualities, whether formal or informal, in previous positions. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance agencies in healthcare settings is also strongly preferred.


Bachelor’s degree required.
