Performs duties under the direct supervision of an anesthesia provider and/or RN. The anesthesia aide is responsible for assisting anesthesia providers in various settings. Provides support for surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after anesthesia in all anesthetizing locations (ORs, Cath Lab, FBC, Radiology). To clean, prepare for sterilization, assemble, store, stock, orders, and maintain equipment and supplies for the anesthesia department including pre-mixed IV solutions and medications. Performs duties according to the policy and procedures of CHOMP and the department. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of work, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, and good public/customer relations.
2-3 years experience in an Operating Room, PACU, or Critical Care area of an acute care hospital as a Nursing Assistant, Orderly, or Patient care Tech required. Previous Respiratory Therapy or Anesthesia Aide experience preferred. Knowledge of materials management, stocking, and inventory processes helpful. Must have basic computer skills.
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.

Assigned Work Hours:
Monday-Friday 11A-7:30P, occasional weekend rotated among other Anesthesia Aide staff.
