Work Hours: Monday through Friday potentially 10am to 6:30pm as needed


The Administrative Assistant performs all clerical functions necessary for the office operations which require organization and efficiency. This position requires ability to function effectively in an environment where it is necessary to perform several tasks simultaneously, and where interruptions are frequent. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for phones, accurately scheduling patients, reminder patient phone calls, some medical record duties, screening for insurance authorizations and supplying preregistration information to Patient Access and entering clinic charges. The Administrative Assistant provides a high level of customer services to our patients as well as our clinical staff. The Administrative Assistant is cross-trained for all workstations and rotates duties and shifts as needed and performs other duties as assigned. This position reports to the BHS office supervisor.


Excellent customer service skills. Strong computer skills. Strong phone skills. Ability to prioritize and follow through.


High School diploma or equivalent; college level courses in business or computer science preferred. Working knowledge of office equipment. Medical terminology preferred. Previous experience with mental health/substance abuse. Previous experience in an administrative support role in a medical or healthcare environment.
